The Community Forum for Economic Development wants you to know about these important upcoming events.

Tuesday, Nov. 13 - League of Women Voters Immigration Study - Part Three: Current Federal Immigration Policy

Discussion to be held Tuesday, November 13, 5:30 PM, at the Downtown South Bend Public Library, Dickinson Conference Room. These discussions are open to the public; both men and women are invited to participate.

Thursday, November 15 - Conversations about Race XI featuring Ray Suarez - "Sustainable Communities: Immigration"

Thursday, November 15, 6 PM, IU South Bend, Northside Hall 158.

Ray Suarez is a senior correspondent for The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, an evening news program on the PBS television network. His lecture will be followed by small group discussions led by university and community members. The program is sponsored by the IU South Bend Office of Campus Diversity and Office of Academic Affairs, and the South Bend Tribune.

Tuesday, November 20 - November meeting of the Community Forum for Economic Development - Special guest: Rosemary Mandrici, Portage Township Assessor.

Tuesday, November 20, from 7 - 9 PM at the office of the Minority Health Coalition, 915 N Bendix Drive (in LaSalle Square). The main topic for discussion will be "How Residential Properties are Assessed".

Saturday, December 1 - Safer, More Compassionate World Forum.

Saturday, December 1, from 1 - 4 PM, Student Activity Center, Rooms 221-225, Indiana University South Bend. This forum will address ways we can fight terrorism without guns and bombs. It will include a moderated panel of experts followed by small group discussions.

Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area and IU South Bend's American Democracy Project and Office of International Studies.
