Minutes of St. Joe Valley Greens

PRESENT: David Kaiser, Kathleen Kaiser, Tom Brown, David Vollrath, Vicki W.
GUEST SPEAKER: Lula Malone, Daryl Daniel
1. OPENING AND CALL TO ORDER - David opened the meeting at 7:30. David's key to Central United Methodist church didn't work so we relocated to Lula Malone's church, several blocks north.
2. READING AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes from the previous meeting are on our web page. Members are asked to review the minutes and submit any changes within the next two weeks.
3. GUEST SPEAKER - Lula M. Malone, At-Large candidate for South Bend Common council. Cited her work with the LaSalle group which attempted to keep LaSalle open as a high school. Spoke of her commitment to address police brutality, renovation, revitalization of neighborhoods, especially corridor along Lincolnway from the airport.
4. TREASURER'S REPORT - Lance reported Special Savings $248.00, Political Fund $224.34 and General Fund (share draft) $288.76
5. REPORTS OF DELEGATES AND OFFICERS -- none
6. OLD BUSINESS
Cable access show - David K. will meet with Vicki to outline a format and pilot episode for the cable access show.
Tabling
- David K. will call firms for prices on buttons.
- Vicki will email sunflower design to Kalthleen to send to T-shirt vendor.
- Tom suggested Green stationery be used to present Green Party information at our table at Earth Day in Howard Park. David K. will write a CSO fact sheet as well as a Greens Mission statement
- Kathleen is trying to reserve a table for Paddlefest. She has called the organizers and St. Patrick Park.
- Earth Day: 9:00 AM, April 19, at Howard Park. Lance and Dave V. will bring a table. Dave and Kathleen will bring Bismark, the Peace Dog.
Outreach - Tom is trying to build new coalitions with community groups and the Greens, e.g. NAACP, and contacts in the Hispanic community. Next speaker may be Elaine Zoughby on conditions in Palestine.
7. NEW BUSINESS - None.
8. NEXT MEETING - Monday, May 12, 7:00 p.m., 123 Marquette Ave. (just south of ND off 31, before Leeper Park).
